ARCHIVE: 10 Reasons to Apply to UGA

TOP TEN REASONS TO APPLY TO UGA:

1. UGA offers a variegated selection of majors- and if you don’t like what we’ve got, you’re welcome to design your own! If you play your cards right, you can get a master’s degree to go along with your bachelor’s too.

2. With over 600 student organizations, there is a club here for everyone! In fact, there are too many amazing, interesting, wonderful clubs here so beware! (It might be too late for me.)

3. Everyone looks fabulous in red and black. They're flattering and versatile tones that complement all skin tones and personalities!

4. The Honors program here is AMAZING. Definitely apply in the winter when the application comes out!

5. Not only do I have an amazing first semester schedule, but my professors are so great! They’re funny and experienced and helpful and genuinely care about me and my future success.

6. Cheering on your team with ninety thousand of your closest friends inside Sanford Stadium is the experience of a lifetime. So is getting a hundred-something high-fives from complete strangers!

7. Whatever you want to do -if it’s staying out until morning partying or if it’s getting into a good medical school- there are plenty of people who are happy to help you find your way! The upperclassmen here are super duper sweet, and I have so many wonderful role models already.

8. The atmosphere on campus is so nice. It’s not a cutthroat, vicious, competitive environment but neither is it a joke. There are thousands of hard-working and enthusiastic (if sloppily dressed) college students that are genuinely passionate about something meaningful, creating a vibrant and friendly campus that I’m so happy to be a part of it.

9. If you haven’t had the food here yet, you need to come visit and eat! We have waffles available 24 hours a day, double chocolate chip cookies on the good days, plenty of wheat and heart-healthy options all of the time AND Miss Sandra at Snelling!

10. And last but not least... WE HAVE PUPPIES! YAY SO CUTE :)

So, if you're a high school senior and you haven't applied to UGA already, you've got a week until the early action deadline. That's seven whole days! This time last year, I was convinced I would never come here but now, I literally could not imagine myself being this happy anywhere else!

SO COMMIT TO THE G :) Or for now, at least apply! GO DAWGS!
